Thief was Caught

Comments:

It has been reported by several people that the police caught the/a village thief. Evidently the thief was seen by a villager boarding the bus with a surfboard. Not sure if any items were recovered (or even if they had enough to hold him) but hopefully it puts an end to the current break-ins. Will post it here the minute I have more information!
Additional security measures should still be encouraged.

El Diablo: likes good news! Thanks for the info ;)
If you have more information please let me know so I can post it!

The owner of this site wishes to remain anonymous to keep the site impartial (and because it doesn't matter). The purpose of this site is to provide a safe and open forum to ALL the Villager's at San Miguel."

If anyone (or group) feels slighted, please post your thoughts (you can post anonymously). Everyone is welcome. If anyone (or group) is angry or feeling picked on - please accept my personal apology. I am sorry. That is not the intention or purpose of this site. Everyone and everyone's opinions are welcome and wanted (and needed). Everyone! That is the only way we can find common ground.

When all the dust settles it is my hope to make this site the place for villager's to find out information about San Miguel. It will only be successful if it's safe and villager's participate. Please tell a friend.

El Diablo: No one has been told who El Diablo is. Not the HOA, not the Robertson's, not the kool-aid drinkers, not even the one's smokin' the wacky tobacky!

Who is Diablo?

Comments:

I was just thinking (surprise) isn't this cool? Nobody knows. Could be you or could be me. I hope this remains a super golden secret. We do not want 'dark' secrets anymore! I envision down the line, when someone says to me or to you, "Is it you?" the questioner will get a shrug and a smile. This can happen to anyone in our village. Welcome to the Paradise of Villa de San Miguel. If we ask that question of any of our neighbors, we are seeing the good in them. Bravo!!

El Diablo: it's me!

Speak Out

Comments:

I would like to hear from residents their stories of how they chose to live or vacation in Villa de San Miguel. I first walked the campground with my two year old son and husband in 1962. I said I would like to have a house here sometime. And I pointed to one I liked in the front row. We visited often therafter as we brought the growing children to surf. In 1984, "my house" had a For Sale sign. Never regretted , always enjoyed. A simple rustic serene getaway! Love San Miguel.

El Diablo: loves serenity and San Miguel!

History

Comments:

Though our present technology was not available to Don Tomas Robertson, I'm sure that he would appreciate the format and purpose of this website. Don Tomas, born on a little farm at Los Mochis in Sinoloa, was himself an historian. His friends gifted him with history books rather than trivial things. His " A Southwestern Utopia" published in 1947 is an illustrious history of his father, Don Luis Robertson, born Lajos Michael Amadeus Proschowski (name changed by an English ship captain, who probably couldn"t pronounce his name.)

It is written in two parts,"Utopia in Sinoloa" and "Memories of Sinoloa". Naturally , this delightful history predates the founding of Villa de San Miguel as we now know it, but gives us an insight to the background of the beloved Don Tomas Robertson.

El Diablo: likes present technology.

History

Comments:

I would like everyone to know that I fell in Love with San Miguel, not because my parents bought a home there 30 some odd years ago, and my mother still lives there, but because of a litle old lady who worked in her garage and made the most beautiful pictures. I would go up to Rosa's garage to see what she was working on and invariably I would buy a picture. After she passed on to a better life I still tried to find her pictures in shops around Ensenada. I probably have over 100 of her pictures. Rosa Ballester was a wonderful and gracious lady who loved to create pictures from everything she saw around San Miguel. I just had a client in my office and she commented on the pictures. I wound up spending an hour going over the pictures and telling her the stories behind each one. I can't wait to get down there this weekend. If anyone wants to stop by my house, #7, and look at some of Rosa and Guadalupes pictures I would be more than happy to share. Jim

Civility

Comments:

Thank you, El Diablo, for bringing civility back to San Miguel. I stopped opening "the blog" quite a while ago because I feared that the negative energy emanating from that site might damage my laptop. I am at present far away from San Miguel. I think of it fondly, wondering how high the waves are today, whether the swallows have returned for the summer. I will not permit the negativity that is now entering my email inbox from angry people infect me. I will no longer open that email. I will look only to your website for my news of San Miguel. Thank you, again.

El Diablo: loves civility, swallows, and waves!

Attitude of Gratitude

Comments:

Some of us are very grateful that El Diablo has taken the time and effort to formulate a site for those who are into solutions rather than continuing to be causing further problems. Certainly there are and will be problems in a village such as ours. Name calling and belittling never solved any problems and only produce bad feelings. Let's all cooperate to find and implement good solutions. The first steps have been taken by people who have looked reality in the eye and done the positive. Success is measured by assertive actions, not aggressive words. Let's all stick together to have a positive, enjoyable community.

El Diablo: prefers gratitude over attitude. :)
